A Legacy of Faith. A Movement of Hope. A Future of Purpose.
The story of The Assembly of Perpetual Hope (APH) began in January 2012, when God entrusted our Founding Apostle and Senior Leader, Bishop Kerby De'Marco McLean, with a vision to establish a ministry rooted in prayer, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and committed to transforming lives through the Word of God.
In March 2012, that vision became a reality with the establishment of Perpetual Hope Christian Center (PHCC) in Charlotte, North Carolina. From its earliest days, the ministry was distinguished by its passionate commitment to prayer, expressive praise and worship, sound biblical teaching, prophetic ministry, deliverance, and missions. What began as a step of faith soon became a gathering place where believers encountered the presence of God and witnessed demonstrations of His power through miracles, signs, and wonders.
As the ministry continued to develop, God began expanding both its vision and assignment. Through divine direction, Perpetual Hope Christian Center transitioned into The Assembly of Perpetual Hope, a name reflecting a greater understanding of our identity and Kingdom mandate.
We are more than a traditional church congregation. We are an assembly of believers called to embody the Kingdom of God—His rule, authority, and transforming presence in the earth. Our assignment is not merely to gather people for worship, but to cultivate spiritually mature disciples, develop effective leaders, strengthen communities, and equip believers to demonstrate the authentic glory of God in every sphere of life.
Today, APH continues to embrace its Afrocentric Pentecostal heritage while advancing a progressive, inclusive, and culturally relevant expression of Christian community. Through worship, discipleship, intentional leadership development, and innovative digital ministry, we remain committed to creating spaces where individuals can belong, become, and boldly fulfill their God-given purpose.
Our methods may evolve, but our mandate remains unchanged: to proclaim hope, demonstrate the power of God, and prepare a people who will transform their communities and impact the world.
And the declaration that fueled our beginning continues to inspire our future:
HAVE NO FEAR, HOPE IS HERE! HAVE NO PITY, WE'RE TAKING THE CITY!
